The first meeting of the Board of Directors of the Hill Country Horse Club was held at Andy's Diner, Fredericksburg , Texas on August 26th 1971 . The following Directors were present,

  •     Mrs. Jackie James      
  •    Calvin Bierschwale
  •    Dale Vestal                    
  •    Oliver Rode                        
  •  George Weber
  •    Dub Whitehead          
  •    Robert Lippard                  
  •  Curtis Eckhardt
  •    Wilbert Seipp

The first Officers elected were:

  •  President: Wilbert Seipp
  •  Vice President: Curtis Eckhardt
  •  Secretary/Treasure: Robert Lippard

After considerable discussion concerning the purchase of property upon which to construct a riding facility, the Hill Country Horse Club  purchased 6.85 acres of land from Calvin J. Beirschwale.

The first general meeting of members was held on September 12, 1971
with the members being present as follows:
R.T. Lippard, George Weber, Werner Weber, Oliver Rode, Albert Eyser, Dale Vestal, Fred Whitewood, Calvin Beirschwale, Gordon E. Sauer, Wilbert Seipp, James Pape, Riley Lindemann, Cody Bradshaw, E.L. Raymond, Joe Whitehead Sr., Leroy Kneese, Howard Burrier, Roland Armke, Joe Whitehead Jr., David Weber, Dudley Althause, Curtis Eckhardt, Andrew Knopp.

The first Hill Country Horse Club Play Day was held on September 19, 1971 .

Hill Country Horse Club was founded with the goal of teaching the youth of the Hill Country how to ride properly, learn and appreciate the sport of Rodeo, and be involved with an organization & sport that promotes family involvement, good sportsmanship and solid family moral values.
